• I have added the Paypal API settings into Woocommerce. In Live setting, I try and make a purchase, checkout takes through to Paypal but I get “We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller.” I don’t understand what the problem can be. I am using a different email address for the purchase as the email in the Paypal account. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you’re setting up PayPal Standard (which comes with WooCommerce by default) instead of Express Checkout (which is what our plugin adds).

    Can you verify?

Thanks for responding so quickly. But no I’m definitely installing express checkout.

Ok, well Express Checkout doesn’t use an email address to specify the account the payment should go to, so that error sounds like it’s coming from a PayPal Standard checkout.

Are you sure you haven’t configured both Standard and EC, and it’s actually Standard that you’re going through when you see this error?

Please make sure that Standard is completely disabled to ensure you’re using EC as integrated with our plugin.

Also make sure you have logging enabled, and if it’s still happening I’ll need to get a look at the log files.

Ah you’re absolutely right, I’m so sorry – I had both set up. I’ve now disabled Standard, but now its not getting to Paypal at all. I click on Checkout and it goes round in circles. I have enabled logging as you suggest. Site is https://www.qsuk.com – could you possibly take a look?

Using Firebug I can see that you’ve got a lot of garbage going on with the POST requests on the site.

There are lots of 404 errors coming up when the POST takes place, and the response is getting garbled as a result.

I would recommend disabling other plugins you’ve got running temporarily to see if the problem goes away. Then you can re-enable each plugin one-at-a-time until the problem comes back. At that point you’d know the culprit.

If none of the plugins is the issue it could be a theme problem, so switching to a basic theme for testing would be the next step.
