We were using the WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway plugin for paypal payments, then updated to the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin, now all the PayPal buttons are gone from the cart, checkout and single pages, even though the plugin is enabled, and all the settings seems to be right (buttons are enabled on all the above places under the plugin settings). Plugins and theme are up to date. The current theme is Sydney.

ps.: on the live site, not everything is up to date, and the old plugin is in use, but on the staging site we are trying to make the new plugin work.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @bencico,

If none of the buttons appear, then maybe your account has not been successfully connected. At the bottom of your WooCommerce system report, it should say in the “WooCommerce PayPal Payments” section whether or not the account is onboarded properly.

Beyond this, to rule out a conflict with a different plugin, could you please try activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists?
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

The system report says, that the PayPal Payments is onboarded, the country code is HU (Hungary), the currency is supported, PayPal card processing and Pay later messaging is not available in the country, and a few other things.

By switching to the storefront theme, and deactivating all the extra plugins, nothing changed about the paypal payment method, it’s not available, and the PayPal button is not showing at either of the locations.

Could it be, that because the card processing is not yet supported in the country, the buttons are not showing? If yes, when should we expect it to be supported? What should we do while we are waiting, but the old plugin is not supported anymore?

    Hello @bencico

sorry for the long wait for a response. These buttons should be showing if you do conflict testing and have onboarded your account correctly. Have you already tried to use sandbox accounts to test on your staging site?

Since your live site has got PayPal Checkout running, there is not much we can investigate there, so if you want, we can also take a look at your staging site and see if we can make a difference there. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,
    Joost
