    Hi,
    From time to time users complain that they are not able to subscribe with paypal and get the below error message. What could be the reason? What should I tell them to do to overcome this. Thanks!

    Hi there, thank you for reaching out to the Paid Memberships Pro team.

    The ‘missing PROFILESTATUS’ error is typically shown when a customer creates a new PayPal account and makes payment online for the first time. Paypal requires a confirmed Paypal account for recurring payments prior to checkout, which doesn’t happen at the time of creating an account for the first time and checking out right there and then.

    I would recommend either notifying you customers that they need to have a verified, active PayPal account before checking out, or using a gateway like Stripe, if it’s available in your country, to accept payments.
