    Site is getting failed orders on credit card payments through the Paypal Payments plugin for seemingly no reason. I have updated woocommerce and the plugin to the latest versions. I have tested with different types of cards in all different browsers. As guest and logged in user. Tried disabling all other plugins and switching to the default WP theme, did not fix the issue. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to why some payments are failing and some go through.

    Failed order message in the notes says “Could not process order. Payment provider declined the payment, please use a different payment method. Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.”

    Seems to be a known issue similar to

    Hi @aobrien82,

    The issue reported in the linked thread has been resolved a few updates ago and only affected payments with the PayPal Card Processing.
    So this does not relate to the error you mentioned. Almost every failed order will say “Could not process order.”
    However, this part means the payment failed because it was declined by the card provider.:

    Payment provider declined the payment, please use a different payment method.

    The plugin only receives a generic response from the PayPal API about the failure, so it is not possible to provide too many details.

    You could get more details about it from PayPal if you enable Logging in the plugin settings and then after a failed payment, share your log files with the PayPal MTS.

    Hi there – thank you so much for putting this down – we’ve been having the same issue, which is very concerning when there’s no clear explantation or lead as to why a payment has failed.

    I’ve been on the phone with older customers walking them through the checkout and the payment simply fails or keeps spinning – then they refresh the page and try again and it goes through. No rhyme or reason!

    It’s just far too buggy and we get many emails from customers telling us there’s somethign wrong with our website and that they’ve had to place the order somewhere else!

    We’ve switched the card processing back over to WooCommerce payments and are going to see if our incident rate is reduced over the next week.
