NOT RESOLVED…. We have the exact same issue described in another post that was marked Resolved, but it is not resolved. Error: “Warning, your account is not ready to accept donations. Please review the following list: Your account was expected to be able to accept custom payments, but is not. Please make sure your account country matches the country setting. If the problem persists, please contact PayPal.” This is extremely frustrating, and via the link posted in the other complaint, I see 8 people have voiced the same issue. Can you let us know how long we must wait for this fix? My GiveWP plugin is up to date, the issue remains since 12 days ago or more…

    Hi there,

Your situation is certainly frustrating, and we understand that. What Matheus said in this other ticket that you commented on, is that this is a situation with PayPal itself. it’s not something unique or specific to GiveWP or to our integration with PayPal.

We are working directly with PayPal to help them see situations exactly like yours so they can resolve this on their end.

Again, we are doing everything we can to help resolve this situation by communicating directly with PayPal, which is where the source of this issue is.

For the time being, you can continue accepting donations with “PayPal Standard”.

Let me know if you have additional questions at all.

    Hello,

I am trying to assist a charity, Lions Club. their site is at sbclions.com

They were able to receive donations fine until July. They are in desperate need right now due to the Typhoons. They have willing and waiting donors that keep getting error messages.

Please try yourself on the site at https://sbclions.com and do a test. Once you click DONATE then it goes to a PayPal error page.

I have updated the entire site except for the 2x “Elementor” plugins which i do NOT want to update.

I have been trouble shooting for over 4 hours now and the only thing I am unable to complete or think MAY be the cause is the “GiveWP” Plugin will not update.

When I try to update it either quits on error or just “hangs”. I have tried the instructions here https://givewp.com/documentation/core/frequent-troubleshooting-issues/handling-database-update-issues/ but the issue still remains, Donors cannot donate and the people are in desperate need right now for food, water and shelter due to all the Typhoon flooding.

They are a Charity and 100% volunteer and 100% off their donations (plus out of their pockets) goes to helping the needy & poor I am Begging for help.

    Can you assist me?

An unexpected issue occurred during the database update which caused it to stop automatically.

    Hi @sbclions

Your issue sounds like a separate one from @ideahost, and is related to a failed Database routine. When you update to 2.9.x GiveWP creates a new database table for “revenue” and if that table is not created correctly, things can go wrong. This has happened for a handful of customers, and we are looking into both how to fix it as well as prevent it.

As of version there’s a trick to re-running those database routines that fail for any reason. In your case the routine that failed is the one that creates the revenue table. Here’s the steps to re-run that db routine:

    1. Log into your site.
    2. Paste the following onto the end of your site URL in the URL bar: /wp-admin/?give-run-migration=create_revenue_table (if your site is https://givewp.test then the final URL would be https://givewp.test/wp-admin/?give-run-migration=create_revenue_table
    3. Go and check the system info at Donations > Tools > System Info to see if the revenue table has been created.
    4. If it has not, navigate to Donations > Tools > Logs > Database updates and let me know if you see anything logged there.

    Thanks!

Hi Matt, Just a follow-up: I am happy to report that I was able to get the “country not matched” error resolved. The error message was confusing, because the actual issue was a typo in the email address to which the funds would go (the PayPal account). I found another forum that mentioned the “country” mismatch issue but they resolved it after finding a typo in the PayPal account email address. A way to mitigate some of the confusions would be if the error message generated said “The PayPal account email address does not exist.” Hope this helps someone out there. Sorry for the confusion, it was not exactly a PayPal issue. Thank you for your assistance ??

Hopefully they find a solution for my issue ??

I have the same issue, but don’t understand the email typo resolution. If there was a typo I wouldn’t be able to logon to the PayPal account via GiveWP plugin. Is there somewhere else in particular I should check the email?
