Paypal Express as only payment possibility, not possible to fill checkout form ?

@makeonlineshop, Sorry for the confusion, well If EC is the only Gateway enabled then proceed to checkout page will be hidden.So, If you want to let users to choose a different shipping address then we have order review page enabled by default where they can add their shipping address,unless you have it disabled explicitly from EC settings page ( Skip Final Review ).

Please check and see if order review is enabled? If so, then try to make a test order using EC button and you will see order review page where you can add your shipping address.

Please check that and let me know if you still need some help with that.

Sorry my previous reply was wrong, I was checking a shop that has another payment method.

So, I have now tried to untick “Enables the option to skip the final review page” on a shop that has only your Express Checkout, and I still do not see the Standard PROCEED TO CHECKOUT button that I see on shops that have another payment method.

Sorry if I do not understand well, but as I only see the Paypal button I have no way to fill the shipping address ?!

By the way, it would be good to add a message on top of the Paypal logo on the CART page:
“Click on the Paypal button to send your order to your Paypal address and skip the form”
(so people understand that if they want to fill the form to put a different shipping address, they must use the standard checkout)

When I click on the Paypal yellow button I am asked to login to my Paypal account directly, is it correct ? Do you mean that the REVIEW ORDER page will be displayed after I login in my Paypal account ?

I can be wrong but I think it would be better that people are allowed to see the standard checkout page and fill their address there, along with a comment if they want ?!

So my idea is to have a message on top of the cart page:

To send your order to your Paypal account please click on the Paypal button.
To send your order to a different address, please click on Proceed to Checkout.

Yes, when Express Checkout is the only gateway enabled on the site then it will replace the Proceed to Checkout button with the PayPal button. This is because the WC checkout button is unnecessary in this scenario. You will be taken to PayPal to login or pay with a credit card (guest checkout) and when you are returned back to the review page on your site, this is where the user would have options for any tax or shipping amounts that need to be applied based on the address returned by PayPal. The user would also be able to adjust the shipping address at this point if necessary. This is why you need to make sure you do not have the option to Skip Final Review enabled.

We have added an issue in GitHub about your request to include a message on the cart page similar to the WC checkout page. We’ll get that included in the 1.5.0 update.

Thank you, it’s clearer now, but I had never seen this done this way before.

I can be wrong but I still think that customers would like to have the choice to fill a form to change shipping address before Paypal login.

Maybe I should enable another payment method to allow customers to reach the Woocommerce form ? Or can I enable another standard paypal payment together with your express paypal ?

@makeonlineshop, If you really want them to fill in shipping details on site then you can enable any other Payment Options give with our Plugin.
Standard PayPal may create conflict while EC is enabled so I would recommend you to let Standard PayPal disabled while EC active.

Sorry, no I do not want to force people to fill the form, I want to give them the choice and let them manage how they want, which is not possible.

For example I would fear to buy something using Paypal if I cannot fill up my shipping address first, especially if I want to send to another address than the one registered on Paypal (how do I know that I can change the address after ?). Also, many people never update their Paypal address and might not buy if they cannot fill up the form first.

But for people who exactly know what is their Paypal address and want to send to this address, your plugin is perfect.

But it’s ok, it’s not so important, I think I will just enable another payment as bank transfer to let them access the form if they want.

And anyway thank you for the great plugin !

Okay , then Another option to achieve this , even with 1 Payment Option enabled, is to simply turn of EC button on cart page, this way users will see proceed to checkout button and on the checkout page, they can enter their details and do the regular checkout or can use the EC button as well. Make sure to have configurations like the below screenshot to achieve that.

Now people who know what they are doing can click on the Paypal button on products page directly, and other people who are not sure can go to the checkout page and have the choice to fill the form.
