• We have been having this problem for months now with no response from WP Ecommerce. We are set up for PayPal Express (NOT Standard) so our customers will not have to set up a PayPal account to pay by credit card. We have followed all protocols and double-checked with PayPal for entering all correct info into our Payments section of the Store Settings. But still, when a customer orders a product, they are brought to Paypal and forced to create an account. HELP! What can we do to make this work?

I wanted to add more info. Our website is https://galeyrie.com. I am using Windows 10, but the issue is there regardless of OS.

Try Paypal Standard. I have just double-checked with one of my customer sites. On arrival at Paypal there’s an option to Log in, or “Check Out as a Guest” which leads on to a credit card entry form headed “PayPal Guest Checkout”

Oh, my goodness, whitelamp, you are wonderful! I have been grappling with this thing for months. PayPal assured me I just HAD to use PayPal Express or there would be no option for purchase without a PayPal account. I just switched to PayPal Standard, entered an email address (not mine) for someone without a PayPal account in the shopping cart, and sure enough, there was the Pay with Debit or Credit Card button. Then, I tried with my own email address (I do have PayPal) and it still was there. I can’t believe I wasted so much time. Thank you SO MUCH.

You’re welcome. Feel free to contact me directly via whitelamp.com if you ever need paid -for help with tricky wpec problems!
