• I am getting an error when trying to make a purchase with the Paypal Sandbox. I select the membership level and then complete the signup process, click the purchase with Paypal button and get this error.

methodName_ failed: cURL error 35: error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure

I have looked all over your site and many other sources for the cause of this error and can not figure out what is going on. At first I thought this was an SSL issue. So I purchased an SSL cerrtificate today and had it installed on my hosting. My site is now running with https:// but the problem is still there.

Any info or idea on what is going on here or what I can do to fix it?

I purchased SSL for my server and things still didnt work. I noticed that my SSL didnt have TLS 1.2, something apparently paypal has been requiring since June 2016. After discussing things with my hosting (godaddy) I was made aware that I could increase my SSL secutiry by upgrading my hosting from one of the Classic plans to a cPanel plan. After upgrading my hosting and moigrating my database and files I can now process the payment properly. I do not have SSL setup so Im not sure what the real issue was. It is possible that I am able to use TLS 1.2 without the SSL setup, but this is an area I am unfamiliar with and do not know how to test the conditions.
