Hi there. In other gateways the PayPal fees are shown separately in a custom field in order that it can be balanced in QuickBooks. However this plugin doesn’t appear to do this. Please can you confirm that this as per design (and therefore I probably need to choose another gateway) or if this is just an issue for my site?

  • Hi rickydwilson,

Thanks for reaching out our Braintree for WooCommerce gateway! I’ll be happy to help.

There are a couple of Braintree custom fields that are stored on the order, including “_wc_braintree_credit_card_payment_token” and “_wc_braintree_credit_card_customer_id”. However, I’m afraid that this plugin does not currently store any fees charged by the gateway directly on the order.

I went ahead and opened an internal feature request for this. Although I cannot guarantee if/when this might be added to the plugin, our products team does take these requests into consideration when planning future development efforts.

I’m sorry that I don’t have a better solution for you on this! Is there anything else that I can help with for now?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Ok thank you Jennifer.

I think Braintree need to make it clearer when selling their services that if you use this plugin you cannot take advantage of the innate QuickBooks features for matching orders to cash. This is the first payment gateway that I have come across that doesn’t capture and record fees for this purpose.

Hey ho live and learn. Many thanks

    Hi @rickydwilson,

I’m sorry that the plugin isn’t working the way that you need. I do see how this type of functionality may be useful, so thanks for bringing this to our attention! If there is anything else that we can help with in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out. ??

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
