Yes it is current set to zero (and ignored) and I’ve had it set to 1, and it is ignored too.

I’ve tried removing shipping=”0″ from the shortcode, but the guest checkout still requires a default shipping option, even the item is not deliverable, and does not need one.

In WordPress Simple Shopping Cart, under Advanced Settings, in the section “PayPal Smart Checkout”, the checkbox is not enabled, and none of the required settings are entered.

but if the customer selects the Paypal Guest Checkout (eg. debit card without logging in to Paypal), then the Guest checkout ignores the shipping fee specified, and the Shipping section offers a “default” checkout fee (which is different for the USA or UK).

I am wondering if you might need to setup reginal sales tax in your PayPal account as per the following documentation.

Am trying to avoid setting up anything in my Paypal account, especially if I should be able to over-ride it with the shortcode.

Hi, are you wanting to charge a fee? If you are, have you setup the plugin with a fee in the settings? This is located under General Settings -> Base Shipping Cost.

The opposite. I’m selling a PDF file as a digital download, so there should be no shipping charge, but guest checkout is forcing one, even though I set shipping=”0″

Does your paypal account have Profile based shipping setup which is getting triggered?

It’s actually not my Paypal account, so I can’t check. But when we do a regular Paypal checkout, all is fine and shipping=”0″ overrides whatever settings are configured.

It is only the guest checkout (where you don’t log-in to Paypal) that is ignoring shipping=”0″ as PDFs do not require shipping.
