PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) Warning

    hello,

I suddenly receive these emails from paypal, but payments are being processed correctly.

In Paypal email it is also said:
If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

Does it mean that Paypal would not allow me to receive any more payment on my shop ?

What can i do to fix ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello @cacabe

Thank you for sharing that error message. I recommend that you try switching to the PayPal Payments extension that includes all the functionality of the PayPal Checkout extension, and is being maintained going forward.

You find more information about this extension, and how to make the switch here:

no thank you, no interest in this buggy plugins that nobody asked but that you keep pushing.

But maybe 114 negative comments is still not enough ?

    Hi @cacabe,

I understand you’re not interested in the PayPal Payments plugin. My colleague recommended it because it’s the PayPal integration that’s now being actively developed and supported.

Regarding the negative comments, I recommend setting up the plugin on your staging site so you can confirm for yourself if it works. It’s worth mentioning that the extension isn’t supported by us so we can’t respond to the issues raised.

Moving forward, PayPal Checkout utilizes IPNs to notify the site that payment is complete. The WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway passes the notification URL in the payment request API call.

We’ve seen a few cases where the error notice you shared was caused by the site producing a fatal error upon receipt of this request or is otherwise unreachable by the IPN. This may be due to a plugin/theme conflict or something at the server level.

A good place to start is checking your fatal error logs in WooCommerce > Status > Logs as well as your PHP server log to see if there are indeed fatal errors on your site. Let me know what you find.

It’s worth mentioning that there are cases where PayPal sends these emails out even when the IPN is actually working.
