• My client received this email from PayPal:

“Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:

    https://befree-lance.com/ms-payment-return/paypalstandard

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.”

I’ve searched high and low for an answer on how to fix this, or even what is actually going wrong, and I’m at a loss. Really concerned that payments aren’t getting through or that PayPal might soon shut them down if this isn’t resolved. Please help!

Update: we have contacted PayPal to see if they can help and they’ve said that the problem might be that the URL is inactive or has been changed. I’ve had no indication of this on your end and the URL in our PayPal settings is still the one posted above.

    Hey there janineisabelle,

    How are you doing today?

Can you please try removing the IPN URL from your paypal settings to see if that will help? The reason I ask is because Membership 2 has automatic IPN settings so you don’t really need to add, this was added to the plugin in one of the later versions of the plugin.

    Hope this helps ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

    Thanks, we’ll try that!

    Hi Bojan,

I am having a similar issue. Can you explain in a little more detail

Can you please try removing the IPN URL from your paypal settings

As the instructions when setting the plugin up specifically say:

In order for Membership 2 to function correctly you must setup an IPN listening URL with PayPal. Make sure to complete this step, otherwise we are not notified when a member cancels their subscription.

    Thank you in advance,
    Will

Hi @wpmudev-support4 any word on above?
