A couple days ago a potential customer got an error that “Could not create token” when trying to check out. I deactivated and tried to reactivate the Paypal connection, both through the “Activate Paypal” button and manually but keep getting errors about the onboarding. I deactivated all plug ins except for WooCommerce related ones and am not getting anywhere. It looks like there were some other posts with this issue but all closed without a resolution that was helpful.

    Errors include:

“We could not complete the onboarding process. Some features, such as card processing, will not be available. To fix this, please try again.”

    Also,

“Authentication with PayPal failed: Could not create token.

Please verify your API Credentials and try again to connect your PayPal business account. Visit the?plugin documentation?for more information about the setup.”

Notice: We could not determine your PayPal seller status to list your available features. Disconnect and reconnect your PayPal account through our onboarding process to resolve this.

Don’t worry if you cannot use the onboarding process; most functionalities available to your account should work.

    Hello @concertkatie

To resolve this, I recommend you to clear the plugin database, which often helps in resetting any temporary errors or glitches that might be causing these problems.

Navigate to the ‘Connection’ tab in the plugin. Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you should find a button labeled “Clear now.” Click on this button. This action will reset the settings. After clearing the database, please go through the onboarding wizard again. This process will attempt to re-establish the connection.

Once you’ve completed these steps, please check to see if the issue persists. If you continue to encounter errors or have any further questions, do not hesitate to get back in touch.

      Kind Regards,

      Krystian

The issue was initially resolved by switching from PayPal to PayPal standard, however, now neither are working. Now when you “Proceed to Paypal” a Paypal message “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.” pops up.
