    Hi

My client has 2 plugins installed for Woocommerce paypal “Woocomemrce Paypal Checkout Gateway” AND “Woocommerce Paypal Payments”

The other plugin called “Woocommerce Paypal Checkout Gateway looks like it will be discontinued, it says”
As of 1 Sept 2021 Paypal Checkout is officially retired from Woocommerce.com and support for this product will end 1 March 2022.
We highly recommend upgrading to Paypal Payments …

Is this your plugin Woocommerce Paypal Payments, that this OTHER plugin is referring to download ?

I’m a bit confused as I only ever use 1 plugin for paypal, not 2 so NOT sure of purpose and funcionality of the other plugin “Woocommerce paypal CHeckout Gateway”.

I have just recently taken over to help this client, so usually I don’t ever use 2 plugins for paypal to work.

If I just DISABLE the other plugin as it is now OBSOLETE by the sounds of it, I assume Paypal will just work normally using your Woocommerce Paypal Payments plugin ?

When I look under Payments area in Woocommerce, I see there is an option for paypal Standard is that relevant to your plugin I assume ?

There is another option called “Paypal Checkout” – or is this related to your plugin ?

I can’t tell what belongs to what at the moment.

Please advise urgently when you get a moment ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Kristin

    Hi @kristinubute,

The PayPal Checkout Gateway plugin will soon be retired and PayPal Payments is the direct successor. PayPal Payments provides mostly the same functionality as the previous plugin and much more. More alternative payment methods, Pay Later, Vaulting, Advanced Credit and Debit Card payments, and more.

In the Payments tab of the WooCommerce settings, the PayPal Standard gateway comes from WooCommerce and is not a plugin. This is a core piece of WooCommerce and it has been disabled for new websites a while ago. It will remain visible for existing sites, for now until it will eventually be phased out entirely.
PayPal Checkout is coming from the previous PayPal Checkout Gateway plugin, which will be retired soon.
The gateways PayPal and PayPal Card Processing are both coming from the new PayPal Payments plugin.
To learn more about the new integration, I suggest taking a look at the upgrade guide and letting us know if any questions remain: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/paypal-payments-upgrade-guide/
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

Could you also confirm the difference between your plugin functionality AND the standard Paypal option as part of Woocommerce in the Payments section called “Paypal Standard”

    I’m bit confused between these 2 .
I assume your plugin has OTHER features and options that the std Woocommerce paypal integrate has ?

Does your plugin allow seamless integration when Consumer is at Checkout, and does it REDIRECTLY into PAYPAL as a popup or how does this show differently ?

The Paypal Standard pops up and then you have to login to Paypal, it briefly redirects to paypal for purchase and then back to the website for completion of the Order.

Does your plugin work differently or better or less cumbersome ?
I have mainly just used the Paypal Standard for other clients, hence my questions?

    Thanks
    Kristin
