    The PayPal documentation you referenced does not apply to PayPal Payments, as it pertains only to Payflow, a legacy PayPal product.

    PayPal Payments incorporates Advanced Card Processing for card transactions, the direct successor to Payflow. For Vaulting with Advanced Card Processing, Reference Transactions are not necessary. However, you must be enabled for Advanced Credit and Debit Card payments.

    For Vaulting with PayPal accounts, your PayPal business account must be approved for Reference Transactions.

    Watch for the next plugin update if your PayPal business account is not enabled for Reference Transactions, but you want to sell subscriptions. It will introduce functionality allowing you to process PayPal subscriptions without Reference Transactions. We can share more about it in the coming weeks.

    Thanks for your quick answer, I’ll check to get our account Reference Transactions enabled. We can’t wait anymore, I hope PayPal does the job quickly.

    As mentioned in the linked document, PayPal recently added the option to sign up for the feature directly from your PayPal account settings.

    It can take a few days, but PayPal will eventually inform you about the status of the application.

    In any case, we expect the PayPal Subscriptions feature and an improved Vaultin setting in the plugin to be available for public testing around the end of the month.

    Hi Niklas,

    unfortunately, it’s not the case on a French business account here. We don’t have access to these features regarding the screenshot of the link.

    Nice to see that the next version will try to solve these issues.
