    Hi @alexliii,

PayPal Payments works with regular PayPal accounts and is an implementation of the PayPal Commerce Platform.
Sandbox accounts for testing can be created on the PayPal developer site.

Basic Checkout features are available to casual seller accounts but certain full-stack features like advanced card processing require a vetted PayPal business account.
If your account is not yet enabled for features like advanced card processing, then it will automatically prompt a sign-up during the onboarding process.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Questions please:

1# do you mean that we do not need apply for PayPal marketplace live account individually?

2# I already get one website onboard month ago with my account, but I failed to get the second website onboard today. So, How many websites can be got onboard by ONE PayPal account please? Is there any limitations? If yes, how manny please?

    Thanks

    Hi @alexliii,

I’m not sure what you mean by “PayPal marketplace live account”? Can you elaborate further? PayPal Payments doesn’t directly have anything to do with multiparty payments if that’s what you’re referring to.

You can use the same PayPal account across multiple websites with PayPal Payments. There are a few things to keep in mind though:

    • every site should have a separate REST App connected
    • PayPal accounts could only be Vaulted on one website at a time
    • every site must have a unique invoice prefix
    • The onboarding wizard will automatically create a new REST App so the best way to connect the account is with the “Activate PayPal” button.
Which error did you get when you tried connecting your account on the second site?
Have you tried it again a second time?
      Thanks!

      Kind regards,
      Niklas

    Hello Niklas,

    Thanks for reply.

    1# Onbaording
I tried again, and it was successful to get onboarding. But I found there is some differenct between the older site and the new one, here is screenshot for your check:

    https://prnt.sc/P1gHF8JD9dTC

The left one is our new site, and the right is the older one.

Is there anything wrong? if yes, please guide me.

    2# Platform account

When Create New App on Sandbox, there are options of Merchant and Platform, please check the screenshot below to understand what I mean:

    https://prnt.sc/V-1niC_lbTSB

but there are no such options when creating live account, please check the screenshot:
    https://prnt.sc/_eQbuQU4p9jt

That is the reason why I ask questions before:
    (1) How to apply LIVE platform account?
    (2) Does this plugin support LIVE platform account? or should we use other plugins to achieve the purpose for a marketplace website?

    Thanks

    Hi @alexliii,

Regarding the webhooks, can you please ensure you are on the latest plugin version and then resubscribe the webhooks?
The two webhooks vault credit-card created & vault payment-token created were only recently added and are primarily relevant if you are selling subscription products.
Unfortunately the webhooks didn’t update automatically, but this can be done either by reconnecting the account or better by resubscribing.

Regarding the “Platform” accounts, I suggest reaching out to the PayPal Merchant support to learn more about them.
PayPal Payments works with personal and business accounts, but there is no dedicated functionality to do anything with “Platform accounts” so I’m not sure how that would be handled.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
