Paypal Plus not working correctly with de_DE_formal

From what I’m seeing in the PayPal docs that locale code is not supported.

We are actually going to be moving PayPal Plus out to its own separate plugin so that we can focus more on the unique features it will have with the different countries it supposed. We’ll definitely look to see if we can improve this within that plugin.

Again, from the docs it seems that PayPal does not support de_DE_formal. If they don’t support it there’s nothing we can do.

We are going to look more into this when we get Plus moved into its own plugin, which we are actively working on now.

Really strange that PayPal does not support it, since most online shops in Germany use the formal form of address, and PayPal itself always uses it throughout their own communications. Looks that they aren’t aware of the fact that there are two different German locale codes … I assume it would be only one line of code for them to add it.

Anyway, for now I have circumvented the problem by setting my shop to the casual form of address. Actually it may fit my target audience better anyway. ??

Use for de_DE_formal in WordPress de_DE from PayPal. This Works. I’ve changed it manually in the Plugin.

Yes, we were able to confirm it works fine.

Keep your eye out for the next PayPal for Woo update, which will provide details about obtaining the new PayPal Plus plugin.

This issue has already been addressed in the new version that will be released soon (along with lots of other adjustments based on user feedback we’ve gotten here.)
