Our plugin does not yet support that. It is a feature that’s included with Express Checkout, so we just need to add options for it into the plugin and build it into the system. It’s on our list for the 1.2 update already.

We’re going to be releasing a 1.1.6 update before long with more patches and small bug fixes, etc. I’m going to try to get PayPal Advanced included with that, and then that would replace both Pro and Express Checkout if you wanted to activate that on your PayPal account and use it instead. With Advanced, everything is tied into an iframe and it includes Express Checkout and credit cards.

Personally, I prefer Pro and Express checkout separated. The backend administration of it can be a little nicer, and the front end experience, in my opinion, is a better flow. Unfortunately, I don’t have any hard statistical data to show which one has the best conversion rates at this point. I’ll have to see if I can get that info from PayPal.

Anyway, again, I do plan on getting EC updated to include that option, but that will probably have to wait until the 1.2 update which could be a couple of months away.

In my experience, when people specifically choose that PayPal button instead of filling out a form on a site, they’re more than ready to see a redirect to PayPal and are very comfortable that with checkout experience. It’s not something I would worry about too much, personally.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, but I’m going to go ahead and mark this as resolved.

Thanks for your feedback! Always appreciated!

Thank you for the detailed response. Your support is great.

Good point about customers expecting a redirect if they select PayPal. I never thought of it that way. I bought the PayPal Pro to keep the site looking credible and reduce some anxiety of the checkout experience. PayPal shoppers may actually prefer the redirect, as they already trust that site.

    Thanks again
    Valerie
