    Hello,
I have this member that fail to make a payment…
I change the status to “none”. thinking that this will cancel they membership but its not.
after seen that the member can still have access to the website I decided to deleted the member. In case member want to continue with the membership, will need to open a new account.
The member come back yesterday and open a new account, I received wp email and Paypal email for the payment. BUT when i log in to Paypal it show that the payment wasn’t made and a Recurring Payment Profile was created and CANCELLED and member was able to use the website as paid member without paying is the second time this happen.

    Any way to fix this?

I think PMP still sending notifications to Paypal that the member is a free membership… as I changed the status to “none” meaning that the membership sill be free.
    Its that a bug?

Sorry this is happening. Other people are reporting issues of random cancellations on new checkouts when using PayPal Standard.

First, if you only have recurring payments, consider using PayPal Express which is more tightly integrated with PMPro since for recurring payments your users have to sign up for PayPal anyway.

I haven’t been able to figure out why these cancellations are happening or what is causing them.

When you change someone’s level to – none – it should update PayPal to cancel their subscription. It’s possible something broke with this when you did it.

If someone checks out for a level, it will cancel any existing subscriptions they have at PayPal. PMPro will only allow one subscription per user at a time.

So it’s possible that cancellation message you see if for the old level. Check if there is a new subscription in there as well.

If you sign up for support at https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/pricing/ and send me an email with WP admin, FTP, and PayPal creds (I really need to see the PayPal history/etc to diagnose this, but haven’t been able to convince people with the issue to share their PP accout — understandbly).

Anyway, hope this helps a bit. Stay tuned to our blog and we might have a fix for this at some point.

    Thanks strangerstudios,
I think I just found what was causing this issue, the member was paying with a card for recurring payment which will not work if you don’t have Paypal Payflow Pro (Paypal only create recurring payment if you pay with you Paypal account or getting Paypal Payflow Pro for cards payments).

But here is another issue!!! How I can have the option to show my clients that they can pay with a card for recurring payment and other option to pay with Paypal in case they don’t want to use card. Right now I’m using Paypal Payflow Pro but there is no link to choose pay with Paypal.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeffry,

Glad the original issue seems to be solved. We have a recipe for offering multiple gateways on checkout here: https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/2012/06/offering-multiple-gateway-options-at-checkout/. You’ll have to sign up for the PMPro Membership Level to view the recipe.

    Thank You

If someone checks out for a level, it will cancel any existing subscriptions they have at PayPal. PMPro will only allow one subscription per user at a time.

I just tested this. 2 days ago I bought a level 1 subscription plan and yesterday I upgraded to level 2 subscription plan. Then I looked in my PayPal account and both subscription are active! Both subscriptions are test subscriptions and they are recurring on daily basis so today I was charged again for both subscriptions, I just received the email from PayPal. I am using PayPal Standard. I also canceled both my subscriptions and they are still active in my PayPal account. This is a major bug, can you tell me a fix for it?

    Thank you!
