Paypal Smart Buttons Not Working On Mobiles

Hi there!

I turned the Smart Buttons on as suggested in the update, it works fine on the desktop computer and goes through to Paypal, but on mobile devices it just keeps going back to the checkout page and does not proceed through to Paypal.

Interestingly, I could not replicate this behavior on my own test site. I could successfully place an order while using Google Chrome on my Android device – even with the Smart Payment buttons enabled.

For further investigation, can you please:

1. Check this on another device and browser to see if you can replicate the same behavior
2. Get back to us with the exact steps you’re following.
3. Also, please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I turned the smart buttons back on, and tried it on Safari and Chrome on my IPhone, still not working, it will only work when I turn the Smart Buttons off. I remember when the smart buttons were first introduced a couple of years ago I had the same issue and have had them turned of ever since.

Nothing stands out from the System Status Report since you’ve already confirmed that deactivating the reCAPTCHA plugin did not make a difference.

For further investigation, I’d recommend performing a complete conflict test to narrow down what else could be causing this behavior.

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. *could* be due to Autoptimize, try if unticking the “also optimize your eshop’s cart/ checkout pages”-option makes this work?

HI, I have deactivated all of the plugins on my staging site, and found that the issue was a conflict with the Plugin WP SpamShield, once this plugin was deactivated it worked perfectly (I went one by one until I found the problem!). Thanks so much for the help, hopefully others see this who may also have the same issue.

@optimizingmatters I did change that setting, but it made no difference, ended up being another plug in that was the problem. Will have to find another spam shield that is compatible to the paypal plugin.
