PayPal Standard Gateway to PayPal Donations upgrade

    Hello Team,

    We are accepting both onetime and recurring donations. Currently accepting payments via PayPal Standard gateway.

    We are checking for the possibility to upgrade from PayPal Standard gateway to PayPal Donations.

    Questions:
    1. While upgrading from PayPal Standard gateway to PayPal Donations, can I know what happens to the existing recurring payments which happened via PayPal standard gateway?
    2. How the existing recurring payment will be handled?
    3. Do we need to take any steps to before upgrading?

    We would like to get your advise on the upgrade. Because we would like to ensure no disruption for existing recurring payments which happened via PayPal Standard.

    Hi @mahalakshmitech,

    Happy to clarify.

    First, I want to clarify that Paypal Donations is not an upgrade from Paypal Standard. They’re just different methods of using the same Paypal account.

    Existing donations made with Paypal Standard will continue to run without any interruption until you or the donor cancel the subscription.
