Paypal standard: works fine on desktop to complete the transaction but does not work on iphone or ipad. “PLEASE WAIT” message continues to display and proper linking offsite to Paypal does not happen for a donor to make the payment.

is there a setting I need to modify?

    Hi there,

There shouldn’t be any difference at all per device. Can you provide a live link so I can test the problem live?

    Matt:

I think it might be working now. Not sure why it was not working before.
Can you still reply to let me know if you have success with getting the connection to Paypal on mobile device.

    Hi there,

I just tested that on an Android and I was able to reproduce that problem. But I noticed that it was because I had typed the site URL into the phone without HTTPS. When I typed HTTPS into the mobile browser my test went through successfully. You should see a couple transactions from me in your site now. The second one was on mobile. They’ll be marked “Pending” since I didn’t complete them at paypal.com.

This means that your site is accessible via BOTH HTTPS and HTTP. This can be problematic both for your users and for search engines.

We have a guide on fully transferring your site to HTTPS including forcing all traffic to HTTPS. Review that here:
    https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/how-to-use-ssl-and-https-for-your-wordpress-website/

Once that’s done all your traffic should go to HTTPS and that problem won’t occur for anyone.

    Thanks!

I will check on that issue to be sure I am forcing SSL.
Thanks for replying quickly and identifying the issue.
