    Hello. I have been trying to get answers from Paypal and from WooCommerce about this for a long while.

    I have three orders that are “On Hold” because “Validation error: PayPal amounts do not match (gross 20.00). Order status changed from Pending payment to On hold.” For whatever reason, Paypal/WooCommerce is not processing the shipping cost, which is $6.95. The customer’s totals include this shipping amount, as they should, but that is not what is being processed.

    I am not receiving the money.

    I need to receive my payments. Please help.

  • Hi @sleeneys,

    This usually happens due to having tax and/or shipping turned on in PayPal as well as WooCommerce. You can turn this off for shipping in PayPal as shown here:

    Having this on (or tax in your business settings) will cause the amounts not to match and for you to get the error that you’re getting.

    Hi. Thanks so much for your reply! Yes, I’ve been told about this but do not have shipping preferences set up in Paypal because it is not a business account. According to Paypal, I have no shipping preferences set up…. There is not a place for me to turn it on or off.

    You need to have a PayPal Business account to accept payments from your WooCommerce store.

    Hello! I have Paypal all taken care of. It is not a Business account with shipping disabled so that it should be going through WooCommerce. How do I change the three purchases from “On Hold” to process?

    Ok, so now one of the three that were On Hold is now Processing. The other two are still On Hold.

    The other two are still On Hold.

    Can you tell us what the order notes for these on- hold orders say? Are all new PayPal orders processing correctly?
