Paypal Validation error with tax not being charged

  • The site was upgrade to current plugins.

    Occasionally there is an error from paypal no charging the tax on orders. The summary on paypal shows the correct amounts for net and shipping, but tax is zero.

    This is not happening all the time, just sometimes.

    I checked the tax settings, and they have not changed. The items affected are from different categories.

    Because the totals don’t match, the order is placed on hold and an error is in the Order Notes.

    I recommend asking at that plugin’s support so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    I contacted paypal support with an order that had this error.

    I provided all information I could find.

    Response:

    I understand your concern and I apologize for any inconveniences that may have been caused due to the issues you have been experiencing. Upon review of transaction ID# XXXXX, I was able to confirm that PayPal processed the information that was passed along from your website. What this means is that PayPal does not calculate your tax or shipping; however it is calculated on the website and then passed to PayPal. There appears to be a disconnect between what your shopping cart is sending and what PayPal is receiving. You will want to contact WooCommerce to ensure that there are no issues with what is being sent to PayPal.
