Good Day. I hope this day finds you well.

We have set up a lot of websites with PayPal and never had this type of issue. I spoke with PayPal and they said I should log a ticket as on their side it does go through. Whenever our client’s customers make an order and pay for the order, it does not go into complete. It stays pending. I went into the backend of the site and it does not display all new orders. I did a test yesterday and it did go through on the backend. Other clients do not. Mostly payments that say unknown origin do not go through. I pulled a log and the log of PayPal dates back to the 21st of March 2024.

The only thing that I think would cause this is if the IP address gets blocked/filtered. Any Advise Will be appreciated.

    Kind Regards: Pierré

  • Hey there! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

As I understand orders on your website are set as Pending Payment, but you were not able to replicate this, correct? When you ran a test order it worked correctly?

    • Is this happening to every order?
    • You mentioned PayPal, do you have other payment gateway enabled? If you do, does it have the same issue?
    • Which PayPal plugin are you using?

Can you please share a screenshot of the order notes on one of those? Please remove any sensitive information before sharing it here. I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

Here’s an example of what we need:

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Good Day, I trust this day finds you well.

Sorry for the late response. We are just hectic busy.

I apologize. Completely miss typed. He is using Payfast. This is the only payment gate he uses.

The plugin he is using is Woocommerce Payfast Gateway.

    The system log is

    https://jmp.sh/s/vzIcnrt320z7vlnFCoyh

There is no fatal error logs.

Not sure if this is the order sheet that you need https://snipboard.io/Ym6upy.jpg

or do you require the order form that he received through his email?

One thing I did notice is, that he has a tracking plugin that is actually made for PayPal. Not sure if this plugin may cause a conflict.

    Kind Regards: Pierré

Good Day. I trust you are doing well.

We disabled the plugin to run some tests. If this does not work, I’ll start disabling plugin per plugin. I am pretty sure this is either an IP issue or a plugin issue. We have installed PayFast for around 50 clients and this is the first time we have had this problem. I will post the results here if we get this sorter, so that if someone experience the same problem, there may be a fix.

    Thank you for your Assists

    Kind Regards: Pierré

    Hi @pierre1982,

    That sounds like a plan.

If you continue to have issues after your tests, please don’t hesitate to post your issue in the WooCommerce Payfast Gateway support forum here.

Additionally, if you find a solution, we would appreciate it if you share it here. This could be beneficial for other users who might experience the same issue.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
