  • Hi,

There are a number of reasons that an automatic update could fail. Jetpack is a large plugin, with many modules and language files. This can cause issues with some servers when using the automatic update.

Could you please try manually reinstalling Jetpack? To do so, download the Jetpack plugin here:

    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/jetpack.latest-stable.zip

Then, log in to your site via FTP, and delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder. You should then be able to reinstall the plugin manually by following the instructions here:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

I would strongly recommend that you make a complete backup of your website before trying this.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Again but different error:

Installation failed: Could not copy file. jetpack/modules/shortcodes/js/quiz.js

    Another try:

    Could not copy file. jetpack/modules/shortcodes/getty.php

    Hi,

It looks like there is something wrong in your hosting.

I suggest contacting the hosting support to resolve this issue.

Otherwise, please try to install manually with FTP.

    Hello,

At the beginning I also thought that it might be some kind of host problems (probably chmod permissions) then I realized that I updated other plugins very well. So, I tried to upload and install manually with FTP. I tried to install it but took error below. What am I doing wrong really ? :S

    —————–

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/home/riskrevise/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sal/class.json-api-date.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/riskrevise/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/lib/class.media.php on line 3

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/riskrevise/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sal/class.json-api-date.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/php’) in /home/riskrevise/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/lib/class.media.php on line 3

Do you see the same install errors when you temporarily disable all other plugins?

If so, please try contacting your host to get their feedback on this issue and to verify your site’s status. Also, please have them update you to at least version 7 of PHP.

Once that is done, let us know, and we will be glad to continue helping you with this issue.

Thanks for your endevaour, but I tried and no error with other plugins. But something is wrong with jetpack unfortunately :/ I do not know what to do.

Now I checked and see that there is a class.media.php file under _inc/lib so I opened it and have a look 3rd line than realize there is require_once( JETPACK__PLUGIN_DIR . 'sal/class.json-api-date.php' ); code. So when I check there is nothing directory like sal nor any file class.json-api-date.php :/ Could you check also ? There might be some misunderstanding?

So when I check there is nothing directory like sal nor any file class.json-api-date.php :/ Could you check also ? There might be some misunderstanding?

You can find this file by downloading the Jetpack plugin and navigating the directories:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/jetpack/

It still seems like there is a configuration issue with your server that is preventing Jetpack from being properly installed.

As we’ve previously recommended, please contact your host for feedback on this issue. They should be able to help you properly install the plugin and upgrade you to at least version 7 of PHP.

    Thank you.

    Hello again,

Firstly I need to say that all my problems were real like lack of files while extracting or something else but all of them are based on my hosting package. Because of my disk quota exceed, wordpress could not work properly. I upgrade my package and now it works very well. Thank you all for all of your endevaours ??

We’re glad that you got that fixed and you’re welcome for the support!
