PDF Attachment

  • Hi,

    I am trying to attach a PDF to one of my pages.

    I uploaded the file as a media file, but when I attached the file link to word I wanted to on the page, it didn’t show up when I clicked on it. It just opened to a media file page, but there was no document there.

    I am a beginner and not familiar with many technical terms, but all help is very much appreciated.

  • From the Insert Media page…towards the bottom right corner under attachment display setting, do you see a setting for link to: Media File?

    That option should insert a link to the file when you click on the insert into post button.

    Perhaps my issue is with uploading the file. It’s definitely linked to the media file, but when I open it, there is no image of the document. Only the name of the file as the title of the page and the comment box at the bottom.

    Could you double-check that the file opens locally on your computer?

    If it does, try uploading to WP-admin –> WordPress Media with an alternate browser:

    The files open and look normal on my computer. I have tried uploading them with both Chrome and Firefox with no luck so far.
