First, thank you. This is a great WordPress Plugin! Everything it does on desktop browsers is top-notch. The issue, as someone mentioned in a previous topic, is viewing PDFs on iPhones (or other mobile devices). Is there a way Easy FancyBox could have an option to be “disabled” for mobile phones? That way I could set the PDF to open in a new tab instead.

  • Hi, the problem with viewing PDF files inside the browser is that you need a PDF Viewer (plugin or integrated) in the browser. Iphones particularly do not have such a browser.

To work around this, Easy FancyBox has an option to “disable” the light box effect for screens smaller than X pixels wide. Alternatively, you can switch the PDF embed option from “iFrame” to “Google Viewer” which should work on just about all devices…

To open the PDF in a new tab (when the light box effect is disabled for smaller screen sizes) you can just give the link a target="_blank" attribute or simply toggle the “Open in new tab” option in the Gutenberg editor.
