PDF Online viewer no longer available

  • Hello,

    I installed this plugin a couple of weeks ago, to evaluate for a document hub, but now suddenly I find documents no longer appear online, in the PDF document viewer; instead, after clicking on a thumbnail in a gallery, the Open/Save PDF dialogue pops up, which can be problematic when using mobiles to view a doc.

    I am sorry I cannot provide a link, this is a secure health and social care hub for an individual and contains information that is private and confidential.

    I should be happy to provide you with a private login, If you should require it, but I though I would make a generic enquiry, in the first instance, to assist anyone else having the same problem.

    Hi geavox,

    Document Gallery on its own does not include document preview capabilities, just thumbnail generation. Many browsers natively provide preview for common file types like PDFs, but that’s is on a per-browser basis.

    It’s possible one of those plugins you listed was augmenting default browser behavior, though I’m not immediately noticing any that would. Dumb question, but are you sure you didn’t just switch browsers?

    Hello and thank you for taking the time to respond to my query so promptly sir.
    No, the only browser I have been using was Firefox, but I briefly tried with Safari too, with the same result.

    Well, now that I know it’s not due to some common mistake I might be making, I will deactivate the plugins and re-activate them, one by one… I just thought I’d ask, just in case it was me being dumb… ??

    With your permission I will come back and report on what transpires.
