• We’ve been trying to replace this pdf on our website with an updated version for a couple of weeks using the “Upload new file” button from Enable Media Replace, but it’s not working. We’ve tried “just replacing” the file, and also replacing, renaming and updating all links.

We are using WP 4.7.3 with MSocial theme, and Enable Media Replace v3.0.6.

We know it’s not cache since we don’t have any caches active, and we’ve been trying to do this for over a week.

All of our files are using 0644 permissions, and our directories are 0755.

Our WordPress administrators have permission to write to the uploads folder–we’ve verified a few times.

Our error_logs in the root and in wp-admin have had no new entries since we began troubleshooting.

Our WordPress upload size is set to 64 mb and file size is 306 kb (identical to original file size).

The problem persisted even when we disabled all other plugins.

    We’re using php5.6.

The plugin has worked great for us in the past (thank you!) and we’d like to continue using it. Can you please advise?

  • One thing to check, I’ve had this problem in the past, is make sure you’re not exceeding the file upload size limit. If you try to replace a PDF (or other file) with a larger file size that exceeds the limit, it just fails and doesn’t give you any message why.

When I had the problem in the past, I increased my file size limit and vwalla.
See this thread for same solutions.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’d seen that in other threads and double-checked, but still no dice. As I mentioned in my original post, our WordPress upload size is set to 64 mb and file size is just 306 kb (identical to original file size).
