PDF upload etc. won′t work, wired error message

Id tried today the Plugin, it works with single Pictures pretty good but in the Settings i get wired error Messages about Features that are disabled in because of “Security Reasons”… so i don′t know what to do with it.
Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in/customers/1/f/7/myHomepage/wp-content/plugins/wp-booklet/wp-booklet.php on line 312
And on the Homepage of the Developer is the Plugin not anymore listed…
So hopefully he is still on it, its such a great Plugin i would be pretty sad if it would stop at here.
