I have a PDF that is 9132 KB and I can upload it to our company’s WordPress site without a problem.

I have another PDF that was previously posted on our company’s KB site. I only modified one small screen shot. I haven’t been able to upload it to WordPress ever since. I have tried to reduce the size of the PDF, and it still doesn’t work. The original size of the PDF is less than 9132 Kb, the size of another PDF that I’m currently able to upload. I also tried to reduce the size and compress images in the original Word source file before regenerating the PDF. That hasn’t worked, either.

Is it possible to get an HTTP error while uploading a PDF to the Media Library that isn’t related to the size of the PDF? Thanks.

  • Are you getting any error message from WordPress when this happens?

Have you checked your server logs for errors regarding this?

Have you validated the pdf file to make sure that it is not corrupted in any way?

Thanks. The error says, “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” I believe the PDF is fine. I don’t see anything unusual. I’ll have to ask our IT department if they’ll look at the server logs. Thanks.
