PDT payments sets status to Completed

Hi, this is the second one in a week in which PDT payments changes the status of the order to Completed as opposed to Processing.
The client emailed the invoice and this should be automatic from payment pending, which turns to processing – once they’ve paid.
It does appear any PDT (PayPal) payments are completing automatically which means customers won’t get their orders.
Only changes that have occurred since this problem appeared is that the plugins which were outdated on this site were updated to current release – so not sure if this is a PayPal or Woocommrce issue and not sure where to start troubleshooting?
