Pending Order not getting changed to Cancel

    Hi Team,

    We have used the setting Woocommerce Inventory settings & set the hold stock to 60 minutes. After that time usually the unpaid (payment pending) orders are to be cancelled.

    Somehow this is not happening in this case. Payment pending orders are stuck at that status even after a month or 2 and hence we are facing issues/loses due to stock not getting updated & customers placing orders for payment pending orders after a month where the product prices has changed (hiked).

    Request you to kindly help here in fixing this problem and make the un paid orders cancel after an x time.

    WooCommercce uses the WP Cron system that’s part of WordPress to handle automated tasks like canceling unpaid orders. If that’s not happening it could indicate there is an issue with the operation of WP Cron.

    There is a plugin called WP Crontrol that you can install. It’ll add a new menu under the Tools section of the site to show cron tasks. It’ll also show if any errors that it detects.

    I would suggest installing that plugin and then checking to see if there are any problems with WP Cron on the site. Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks for checking that. Could I get you to post a copy of the System Status Report here?

    Also, go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and use the drop-down at the top to load any fatal error logs. See if there are any fatal errors occurring on the site. That could also point to what’s keeping this from working.

    As per your suggestion I have checked the fatal errors on the website under logs section. Below is the log of the latest fatal error (19-02-2021). There are many such error logs.

    Hi @shashikant91. Sorry we missed your last response.

    It looks like the fatal error is the Facebook plugin that you have installed. I’m not seeing any red flags in the system status report.

    Are new orders also not getting cancelled within 60 minutes or is it the older orders that are affected? If it’s only the older orders, it may be that Cron wasn’t working in the past but is working fine now. In that case you can use a snippet to cancel the older orders. There is a discussion here that may help. I have not tested the snippet; you can comment directly on the post with any questions to its developer. You could use a plugin like Code Snippets to add it to your site.

    Thanks for your revert.

    I have observed that even now the orders aren’t getting cancelled after the set time in woocommerce inventory settings.

    Do you suggest me to deactivate the social plugin & see if the unpaid orders get cancelled.

    Hi @shashikant91, the hook we expect to see in your Cron Events is woocommerce_cancel_unpaid_orders. Can you checkout on your site but don’t complete payment so that there is an order with status Pending Payment and then check the Cron Events to see if an event with hook woocommerce_cancel_unpaid_orders is created? If not, then something is preventing the that and I would recommend conflict testing as a next step.
