• WordPress version: 3.5.1
    WordPress SEO version:1.3.4.4 (default settings)
    W3TC:0.9.2.6 (latest, default settings)
    Theme: Striking (Theme Forest)
other plugins: FB and WP tweet dunamic widgets (tested on and off)
.htaccess default WP settings + default W3TC
    website: https://www.babyenborstvoeding.nl

    I did this:
    activate the SEO plugin.

I expected the plugin to do this:
put the xml file automatically in google Webmaster Tools (WT) and not pending for 2 days or more

    Instead it did this:
DID NOT put the xml file automatically in google WT and still pending

    I tried this:
    – Tested if SEO did upload the xml to https://www.babyenborstvoeding.nl/sitemap_index.xml worked OK ?? also the page-index.xml etc.
    – Put manually sitemap_index.xml to WT worked NOT OK ?? Still pending, 2 days.
    – Workaround
did copy the source code of SEO page-index.xml paste it in file named sitemap.xml upload with FTP and added to Google WT. worked no pending. Send 17 pages, 16 index straight away.

Please advice how to skip the workaround.

Kind Regards and keep up the GOOD WORK !!

I had the same thing, but learned that you must have patience, and add all sitemaps one by one so not the global sitemap sitemap-index.html but the sitemaps inside.

if you do add sitemap-index.html to google webmaster and you will resubmit than it will be on pending again, that is the reason why I will not use google sitemaps. because it is one file, so google must render everything again from scratch to now.

with a splitted sitemaps it works better with google webmaster tools and you can resubmit your posts without any pending, also a tip is to fetch every new post in google webmaster tools, check the next day under 24 hours if your post is there with the keyword based in your post.
