I’ve been seeing a reoccurring issue over the last few months and have been unable to solve it. I’ve noticed that people are trying to subscribe via email using the widget on the sidebar of my home page and posts, however they are all being met with “pending too many subscriptions” and have been unable to subscribe. This has been going on almost daily. However, it was not happening when I first created my site, I have a few followers both WordPress and email, but now suddenly no one else can subscribe. How can I fix this issue so people can subscribe to my blog again?

    Hi there,

This happens when people already tried to subscribe to other Jetpack sites but never confirmed their subscriptions via email. After so many unconfirmed subscriptions, they receive that notification. Could you ask them to either confirm the subscriptions of other sites they followed through their email or go to this page and validate or delete all pending subscriptions there?

    Thanks!

@darnelldibbles Hi thank you for your response. I wish I could but I have no idea who is trying to follow me. I just see everyone keeps landing on the too many pending subs page. Is it possible that everyone who’s trying to follow me has confirmed their subscriptions? I haven’t had a subscriber in over 6 months now I think. But I see at least one person everyday is receiving this message when they try to subscribe via email. Is there another subscription plugin I should be using?

If you know about that one person, try reaching out to them and ask them to review their pending subscriptions.
To be able to check each account we would need their email addresses but it’s not a good idea to share those here, on a public forum.

@fresatomica unfortunately I have no way of knowing who is trying to subscribe. They are finding my site through social media or other food related blogs and I’m unable to reach out to them. I just see the page being visited. But thank you anyway.

I’d suggest you test it yourself with another email address, you shouldn’t have any problems subscribing to your site.
In case you do see the error right away, let us know.
