I have multiple shipping classes set up and linked to specific product types since many of the items ship separately. It seemed to be working fine a few days ago. When you go to the cart or checkout page it showed a separate section for each product type that had different shipping classes with an option to select the available shipping methods. Now it is merging them all into one section so the correct classes can’t be applied to specific items.

For instance, I offer a free shipping without tracking option for stickers. If you add a sticker and a t-shirt to the cart, it should show separate shipping options for each item. However it is combining the classes and showing free shipping for the whole order, which means the t-shirt doesn’t get charged shipping.

What I described is exactly how my site used to function, no extra plugins were in use. It looked similar to the mockup I shared. It seems like a pretty basic function for woocommerce, to be able to choose a shipping method for each shipping class in the cart instead of merging all the items into one method. Isn’t that the whole purpose of having shipping classes?

    Hi @aneresnyy

Thanks for providing further details to your inquiry here. What your checkout page looked like is not the default behavior of WooCommerce, this would be possible using a plugin or a custom code. However, as you’ve mentioned that there were no plugins used, maybe a custom code was added to your site to achieve this result?

If this was added thru a custom code, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

Isn’t that the whole purpose of having shipping classes?

Shipping classes are used to group products – they are not used directly to offer shipping rates to customers.

You can find more information about Product Shipping Classes here: https://woocommerce.com/document/product-shipping-classes/

    Thanks!

There was no custom code added. I had this working on multiple woocommerce sites and it disappeared from all of them, all of them used basic woocommerce settings with no additional plugins or code.

    Howdy @aneresnyy

Thank you for clarifying further. Just to clarify, are they are all running the same version of WooCommerce?

I think there is some confusion as to what the exact issue is, so here’s a mockup to clarify what I’m trying to fix.

I am inspecting the screenshot, and it appears you are able to have the two shipping options enabled. Or is it “photoshopped”?

Lastly, could you update to the latest WooCommerce version, after making a backup, or in a development/clone installation, and see if the issue persists?
