• Hi all – i’m trying to see if there’s a plugin available or a simple SQL statement I could use that would enable comment/pingback moderation on a per-post basis?

The closest related thing I can find is from Burningbird, but i’m a bit timid with making those sorts of changes so figured i’d run it by the forums here first.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  • You don’t need a plugin. It is done automatically, well, manually, by you.

In the Admin Panels > Write Post panel, next to the title, there is a check box that you can check to include comments and pings. You can choose for EVERY post you add, or go back and edit the ones you have added but ignored that box.

It’s been there for ages. Enjoy.

I understand I can disable comments/pings, but I want to force them into the moderation queue so that they aren’t displayed to the public (at least initially) unless approved.

Unless i’m really inept and just not seeing it… ?

There is a global setting under Options > Discussion, but no, there’s no per-post setting for this currently (except for third-party solutions like the one you’ve pointed out).

Thanks guys – looks like i’ll havta hack around to get what I want.

    Appreciate the feedback ??

I currently use a version of Shelley’s moderation hack in 1.5.1.x. So if you need advice on setting it up let me know, and I’ll see about writing a step-by-step.
