Percentage rin control panel not working

In the Maps control panel, when I switch width and height over to percentage, the map sample completely disappears from the control panel and from the page I have it embedded in. When I change it back to pixels, it comes back.
I have a responsive layout I need to be able to use this plugin in, so any help is appreciated.
