Perfect mix of Great Developer and really Helpful Plugin

  • If you are like me, and just want to have the best and necessary Plugins on your website, this is one of them.

    Well coded, works great, do what it’s supposed to do, and saves a lot of time. Gives you 4 options to accomplish the Retina dirty work, so you have the perfect option to your needs.

    The Pro version it’s just 30USD for Life, really fair, so there’s no reason to not support it. But you will have 99% of the functionality with the free version.

    The best, is how amazing the Developer is active and answer every question, even every review. This gives me confidence on the Plugin and it’s future.

    It’s a matter of time until WordPress is Retina Ready, but until now, this will be the first Plugin I install on my websites.

    Thanks! I have actually just finished reading your post, I will reply a bit later.

    I often think about how WordPress will eventually add Retina support but I am not sure how they will do that, they tend to stay away from adding big feature with impact in the core. And since there is not one way to do it yet it is tricky.

    However, the web will adopt this somehow, but I guess it will take a few years. The best, for me, would be an update to the image format (JPG at least) to take in account the DPI. Depending on the device, a different part of the same file will be loaded. The “appropriate” part of the file (not the whole file). Not sure if I explain it well but this would be a super slick way to do it. But I don’t see it coming soon, the whole retina thing is still a struggle for developers and designers and it will take some time before everybody is on the same page.

    Yes it will take time, and maybe never WordPress will implement it because this thing about Retina and Non-Retina it’s like an workaround for a Bigger problem that deserves a bigger solution.

    Like you say, we need better specifications for how we deal with Pixels and Dots, and make all the media device and resolution independent.
