• Howdie Folks.

I love WordPress! The functions are great and this community is very helpful.

I’m trying to sing the praises of this code to others, but after several months of experimenting, I still come across problems with performance issues with WordPress.

Is it common for WordPress posts to take close to 30/45 seconds sometimes to publish? I’ve watched my task bar on the DSL and multiple servers and this appears to be an issue that is independent of the systems.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve these issues? It doesn’t appear to be a problem 100% of the time, but it does happen more often that a quick refresh.

  • Are you pinging a lot of update services?

Further to what moshu asked, trying removing pingomatic from the update service list.

    Hi Moshu,

WordPress was installed with defaults. I have not added any other service.

HandySolo, I have removed Pingomatic from the update list. Will that not effect the updates in the blogsphere?

I’ll give it a try and see if it makes a difference. Any other recommendations to increase performance?

Yes, idav, it will affect that to a degree. However, there are tons of ping services that you can use in its place (at least until the fellas stabilize pingomatic).
