Performance issues on website

    Hello!

    I’ve been using SSP for over two years and really love it. It does exactly what I want and it is improving all the time.

    I’m working on improving performance on our website (of which podcasts is only one part) and when I disable SSP, I consistently see a 10% jump in performance.

    Along the way, I have dived into the wp_options table and see that ss_podcast and ssp_ have 200 entries and all of them are set to autoload.

    So my general question is, what are the things we can do to improve website performance in general specifically in regards to SSP. So I’m not talking about improving the performance of podcast pages, but the performance that SSP degrades on the site in general.

    And specifically, could I set those options to not be auto load? I know almost nothing about that setting, other than these 200 options are loading no matter what the content of the page is.

    And to be clear, I understand that WP performance is really complicated and hard to pin down.

    Thanks for passing this on. From what little I have researched, it seems that plugins shouldn’t be putting that many lines in the options table. That at the point where you have 200, it should probably be in its own table.

    I look forward to hearing their ideas since I really, really want to keep using SSP, but I also need to do something to improve the site speed.

    Hi there,

    In recent updates we have made improvements to the plugins performance by removing some redundant files that were loading on every page even though they were not needed.

    We’ll continue to refactor and improve the plugin for performance.
