• I am trying to improve performance of our Web site which has W3TC installed. In order to find effect of W3TC I tested the Web site performance for deactivated and activated W3TC. Google PageSpeed Insights was used to determine performance. The results were Mobil 53/100, Desktop 70/100 for W3TC deactivated and Mobil 55/100, Desktop 72/100 for W3TC activated. The effect of W3TC was insignificant. I would like to know your opinion on the results. Do the results mean that W3TC has little effect on the Web site? Thank you in advance for a reply.

  • No, W3TC makes your websites actual load time decrease greatly. The Page Speed insights warning most likely for renderblocking css is a warning that can’t be solved easily. Test your website with pingdom and you will see a bigger difference.

    Hello Destac,
Thank you for the helpful reply. Following your advise, I tried pingdom. It worked well in many instances but sometimes pingdom was returning a very strange report, like “Your Website is slower than 82% of all tested Websites.”

Try playing with the settings for each part. It takes a while to find the best config your your exact setup..

    Hello Alan,
Could you explain what settings need to be adjusted?

I have not used the feature myself but once you network activate the plugin go to

    Performance –> General Settings

then near the bottom under Miscellaneous look for “Use single network configuration file for all sites. ” and uncheck that..
