• Hi

i have designed and finished my wordpress site – it won’t be used as a blog more of a CMS – I am wanting to change my permalinks to something more Url friendly.
I know I should have done this before designing the site, but is there a way to change this at this stage – there will be no posting on the site.

    thank you

Go to WordPress admin -> Settings -> Permalinks.

Swap Custom Structure to /%postname%/ or whatever you wish and save.

    Done.

Note, you may need to paste in some text to htaccess file – depends on your host permissions. Sometimes WordPress will do it for you if it can write itself.

if it all goes tits up – can i put it back to how it was?

    Yes.

The problem you lose your seo because on wordpress 3.4 has bug that not redirect you old permalinks to the new one
