Permalink and .htaccess?

1. This will happen automatically. If you don’t want the Duplicator installer to update the .htaccess then on step 1 under options you can turn it off

2. No steps are required. If you do run into issues then if you have any SSL plugins installed it is recommended to turn off on step 1 or 3 of the installer then re-enable the plugin when logging into to your admin.

Cory, FYI – I reinstalled Duplicator 1.3.4 after problems with 1.3.10. I will be starting a new thread regarding this problem.

However, related to the this thread:

1. .htaccess – I just started building a package using 1.3.4. I don’t find any step 1 options. So, I can’t turn off updating .htaccess?

2. Permaklinks – I found, upon installing two sites yesterday (uploading from local development sites), that user profiles and pages containing an “@” got the site URL added after the “@”.

Example 1: When installing site fmaatc.org, User’s profile email “[email protected]” was changed to “fmaatc@fmaatc.orgfmaatc.org”
Example 2: When installing site aafords.com, all mailto links were changed – “mailto:[email protected]” changed to “mailto:economyelectric@aafords.comhotmail.com”

I have seen this problem previously but had not related the problem to the duplicator installation.

2. When running installer.php on my host (iPage), I have to add the “s” to “http”. I am creating the installer.php on my local computer and the site is not established as https. I don’t see a way to change this during the creation of a package?

1. For step 1 it’s in the installer under the options section, not the build step 1 options.

2. On step 3 of the installer you should be able to enter the full URL of the new site this can be either http or https, but if your localhost is not set up for SSL then it will need to be http
