Permalink change

My wordpress site has around 2500 posts, and I want change from the Default to something like %day%/%postname%
for better SERP results. Is there anyway I can do this so it only affects the new posts in the future? Google has all my old posts indexed, so I don’t want to end up losing a lot of old posts and screwing up my search engine results. What can I do?
