Permalink Change -> Edit and Post broken

  • hi,

    i had a problem with my blog and a buddy meant that it could be from the permalinks, so i changed them to “default” and set them back to “page name”, now i can’t edit posts or make a new post anymore.

    any suggestions?

    Example:

    /wp-admin/post.php?post=5019&action=edit

    Access denied.

  • Can you provide a link to your site?

    Have you tried clearing the cache and accessing your posts again? The address should have changed to the “page name” and not post numbers so you could be trying to access the old link.

    the blog works just fine for visitors,
    only when i try to edit a post it takes me to the wrong page.

    if i could remember how the old link was looking i would try ??

    try adding the &action=edit on the end of the blog post url and see if that works temporarily?

    I’m not sure where the error would be in the auto-generation of the post edit link within your system.
