Permalink display of category

My permalinks are working correctly for the most part. I am wondering how I can change one thing though. When I go to my post it is under the right permalink of: https://www.example.com/%category%/%post_id%
What I want to change though is when you click on a category it is displayed as:
https://www.example.com/category/%category%
I want:
https://www.example.com/%category%How do I do that?
