permalink issues

  • I want to change the permalinks from the default to one using the slug. WordPress is installed in my root directory. When last I tried to use the choice of Date and Name the entire site became 404. My hosting company “resolved the issue” by putting it back to the default. Now I am afraid to try again. Where might I look for the cause of this issue?

    You might also want to confirm with your host that they support mod_rewrite and have AllowOverride properly configured for your site.
