Permalink Issues and “Object Not Found!”

    I installed an set up a blog completely error free in a sub directory. Then when I set the blog to display when typing in my root address, some pages are now going 404 on me. I followed all of the steps in “Giving WordPress It’s Own Directry” https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory like I’ve done several times before.

    What is really weird is that some pages work, like example.com/about and some pages don’t, like example.com/resources

    All pages worked when they were in “core”: example.com/core/resources

    Of course they work fine like example.com/?p=10 and sadly they work with example.com/index.php/resources

    The pages that don’t work are Appraisal, and Resources, and a few of the blog posts that are in the category “Newsletter”.

    Okay, a new development in the investigation. Not sure to explain this, or what kind of setting is creating this problem

    https://www.intlappraisal.com/appraisal/ = WordPress Page = 404

    https://www.intlappraisal.com/appraisal = Old page = does NOT physically exist according to the ftp I’m looking at.

    Try saving your permalinks again in Settings/Permalinks. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

    Sorry, this was a server issue, not a WordPress issue.

    Hello Tammy – I am running into a similar issue and believe it is also a server issue. Can you tell me what you did to correct this? I am creating a copy of a live site locally using XAMPP. I can get the site to show up, but run into the 404 when I try to navigate around my site on my local dev server.

    I’m sorry, I don’t even remember now. It had something to do with some redirection settings the client had on their server.
